Arclid Transport Discover the Secret to Cost-effective Quiet

Posted: 07-06-2011

Arclid Transport Discover the Secret to Cost-effective Quiet Cheshire-based haulage company, Arclid Transport, has collaborated with WG Tankers to develop an innovative modified trailer that will enable them to provide customers with quieter deliveries whilst extending the life of their existing fleet. The trailer modification allows for the accommodation of a self-contained acoustic enclosure, which houses both the blowing equipment that discharges the load, and the motor that drives the equipment. This minimises the noise generated and ensures quieter deliveries, answering the need to make deliveries less disruptive for customers. Meanwhile, this inventive approach to meeting customer expectations eradicates the need to purchase new tankers. Arclid Transport customer Ian Hall at F Ball commented: “Due to environmental and local issues, we were keen to manage the issue of noise during deliveries of bulk sand. We spoke to Arclid and they agreed to explore ways in which they could modify their fleet to help address the issue. This week they returned with what can only be described as a 'state of the art' blowing system and I can honestly say that they have the quietest system of all bulk hauliers that deliver here, setting a benchmark for others to follow. The response to our initial problem was not only rapid but provided a solution beyond our expectations and we look forward to a long working relationship with Arclid.” Peter Conway, Transport Manager at Arclid Transport commented: “We are always looking for ways in which to enhance our fleet and deliver exceptional service that’s aligned to our customers’ operational requirements. That’s why we decided to be pro-active in identifying a solution to the issue of noise during tanker discharge and to look for a solution that would deliver benefits to both the customer and our operations.”
